Content Note: Transcript of an audio recording. Tirey served in Combat Command R of the 12th Armored Division and witnessed the liberation of Landau. Goodfriend was interned at a forced labor camp in Poland, escaped, and was then hidden by a Polish farmer until the area was liberated by the Russians. Place of interview: Bedford, Indiana.
