Content Note: Transcript of an audio recording. Schifter served with the T Force (Intelligence Unit) of the 12th Army and then was attached to the 1st Infantry Division. He witnessed the liberation of Camp Dora. Later, Schifter was a member of the U. S. Holocaust Memorial Council. Place of interview: Washington, D.C. The case file also includes two addresses given by Schifter: "Presentation at Adas Israel" (May 5, 1978) and "Address by Richard Schifter, President of the Maryland State Board of Education, at Maryland Conference on Holocaust Education."

Eisenhower in 1945 to visit several concentration camps shortly after their liberation. As a member of that committee, he visited Dachau, Buchenwald and Nordhausen. Location of interview: Bethesda, Mayland.
