The corpse's hands are folded over its abdomen and its head is turned toward the camera. Two survivors stand behind the corpse, the other stands in front of it next to the oven door. Two of the survivors are wearing prisoner uniforms. Numbered 66 on the reverse. [Original is in the 45th Infantry Division Museum in Oklahoma City, OK.] This photo seems to be part of a series of photos including 06080100PHDA00DUNNJO002, 06080100PHDA00DUNNJO003, and 06080100PHDA00DUNNJO005. Content Note: Transcript of a "Witness to the Holocaust" television series interview (6/4/79). The interview was transcribed as part of the International Liberators Conference. Lafoon served with the 45th Field Hospital. Spruill served with the 191st Tank Battalion in support of a regiment of the 42nd Infantry Division. Both witnessed the liberation of Dachau. Location of interview: Atlanta, Georgia.
